The Green Pillar
The /ɪ/ sound is steep and narrow. Look at the hill shape — it is pointed at the top, not flat. Your mouth is more closed for /ɪ/ than for /æ/. The tongue is higher.
Two words, same letters?
in is a direction word (where?). inn is a place to stay. Same letters /i-n/, but the double 'n' marks a closed syllable. Both live on the green pillar.
Pip is here
Pip is a pika — a small animal like a mouse. She is trickster and engineer. Mim means shy. Pip is shy.
